The characters of this alphabet are composed of 6 elements. This code has, with some exceptions, a relations with the ITA-2 alphabet. The five information carrying elements are preceded with a 0-element (zero element). This alphabet is used with Time Division 2- and 3-channel Multiplex telegraph systems, mostly cable synchronous systems. The connected equipment however uses the ITA-2 (5 element) alphabet.
